Website Woe's and the Normal Mumbo-Jumbo
Hey Everyone!
It has been a couple of weeks of craziness in the wonderful world of websites and blogs. I'm sorry we didn't write last week... it was not because the webpages weren't working, because they were then, but by Monday all my woes began. As many of you have seen the webpages have been down all week. The people we host our webpages with moved everything to a new server this past week. Most everything got moved, but nothing worked when they finally got it here! Ugg... I have been on the phone with them numerous times and finally got everything resolved this morning. There are still a couple of little kinks here and there that I have to resolve, but overall it is done. YEAH!
I know you didn't come here to read about my technology battles, so on with the update! First off, I am at work right now, so I don't have any pictures for the entry today, but I think we do have some good ones at home. I will make an effort to get those up soon.
These past couple of weeks have been all sorts of fun around our house. We have been working on sealing our deck. For those who have not seen our deck, it is pretty large, and in addition to that there is a really big railing around the entire thing. Sealing a deck is just like painting it. It wouldn't be that hard if there were only planks to paint, but there are all sorts of little nooks and cranny's that have to be painted. It is really quite the project. We have been putting in a couple of hours here and there for a couple of weeks and last Saturday I spent about 5 hours working on it. To this point we finally have all the railings done! I think it will go much faster now so hopefully we can post a beautiful picture of our deck soon. We wanted to make it so we could still see the wood grain so we chose an auburn type color, but I think it is just making everything look pink. It will probably look better when the whole thing is pink, but we'll see. :-)
Other news and happenings: Hmmm... Joseph is still in school and loving it. He is getting actually starting to read now. It is exciting for us as parents. I usually spend about 15 minutes reading with him before bed each night, but unfortunately you will have to wait for Debbi to post to hear more about what else he has done!
This past week we had a pretty big accident at our house. While I was working on the deck one night the older kids were playing ring around the rosie on the deck. Bekah wanted to go faster so Joseph obliged. Despite my warnings to be careful, soon thereafter Bekah was flung full force, face first into the very hard brick house! We thought it might have been broken at first, but it never started bleeding (from the inside... there were some good scrapes on the outside) and wasn't really sensitive to the touch. She does look like a little abused child right now with some definite blacks, blues, and greens on her face but she is getting better. It has not slowed her down one bit though. She is still as energetic as ever! :-)
Kay is walking around a ton. We are enjoying having a toddler walk a little earlier for the most part because we can go outside and just let her walk around. We don't have to worry what she is sitting in all of the time, just when she decides she see's something on the ground she wants to play with. She is still super cute, but hey, what do you expect? :-)
Debbi, the rock of our home, is still as amazing as ever! I really don't know how she does it! I get tired even thinking about all she does at home, so if she does get to write one day, just know it is a great blessing to all of us! :-) She is busy with the kids... now the mother of a child in school she babysits other parents kids so she can leave the kids with them in return and go and help out at school. She is constantly taking dinner to someone, or offering to watch their kids because they are not feeling very good at the moment... in fact, I just looked at the calendar and there is another "Watch so and so" on the calendar for this Wednesday! She is truly amazing!
I'm just doing the normal work thing and loving it! I should probably go and get my daily peanut butter and jelly sandwitch before my lunch is over! We love and miss you all! Thanks for the updates on your lives! We REALLY love it. I'm so grateful to have a way to be kind of "co-dependent" as Dad likes to say! I really do miss you all!! Have a great week!!
