School Start!
What a great and fantastic week! First and foremost on our list this week was Joseph! He started Kindergarten this week! Yeah! Yipee! Wahoo!! Here is his traditional first day picture... complete with backpack and lunch!
Here is a great picture of him in front of the bus too. Debbi has a GREAT story about the first day too, but I leave it up to her to write about that on her blog.
I know some of you were worried about the hurricane that came through, but we are doing great! The power went out on Thursday night and we were a little worried about what might happen that night and the next day, but the power came back on (after we had gotten out the latern and cleaned up dinner by propane light... oh the memories of the cabin came flooding back) and the weather was all cleared out by Friday afternoon! Saturday was a beautiful day for a UNC football game (on TV).
In any case, after the storm left we decided I ought to finish the shed I started over a month ago! An unfinished shed isn't much good at protecting my lawnmower when hurricane's come around... so about a bazillion screws laters, a cut or two here and there, three blisters, two popsicles and a partridge in a pear tree later we had this beauty to park my lawnmower in... along with some other stuff.
So life is good for us here! I cooked some yummy bread in my 12 inch dutch oven tonight... made some yummy beans in my 8 inch and grilled a bit of chicken for dinner... does life get any better? The kids are all in bed now... and even Debbi had to call it quits after an hour of chatting with my family. Perhaps all there is left to do now is leave you with this cute picture of Kay... Awwww... isn't she cute? I'm raising her up to love the land. :-)
We love you all! Have a fantastic week!!
