4th of July and... well, other stuff!
Hey All! Here is our weekly (semi-weekly) update for y'all! :-) Life for us around the VanDrimmelen house is all sorts of exciting! These past two weeks have been lots of fun... and VERY hot around here... but what is life without a little adversity? Not much to speak of. So on to the update.
For the 4th of July we decided to have a little get together around the house. It was a ton of fun.. very hot, but fun. After we lit the first firework Joseph exclaims "Wow! Fire in the backyard!" Then after it is over he says "Do it again!!" So we did a bunch of times. We had the traditional sparklers... which all kids love! I mean really, who wouldn't love a lit burning rod in their hands? :-) Here is a picture of the fun, along with a video of the "Finale." (Don't you just love small kids... small amounts of fireworks are plenty to excite them!) Oh, and a picture of us in front of the house on the 4th. It's so nice to finally have a house to hang the flag I got when I was 13 for my Boy Scout Eagle award.
The kids are all doing great! Joseph is running around and mostly a great helper. Yesterday he helped me move a ton of bricks in the backyard for our new shed (pictures pending I'm sure).
Bekah is as cute as ever and loves to help out around the house. I've noticed lately that she has a mind like a steel trap and remembers tons of thing that Joseph forgets. I'm sure they will be great partners in crime.
Kay is moving around like a crazy girl! I am going to put a couple of video's up on her blog... so check those out. She is getting so big and smiley... most of the time. How grateful I am to have her in the house. Here is a cute picture of some of the mischief she get's into.
Debbi has been super busy running... that's right, running. She has started running with Shawntel, a really good friend out here. She runs EVERY day and is gradually running more. They are on some sort of training program that adds more each week till they are ready to run a marathon! Right now I think they are up to 3-4 miles a day... so they have a bit to go... but still, every day! She is amazing! She is also super busy decorating the house for when you all come and visit us. (hint, hint)
I am busy working and totally loving it. I learn more about computers each day, so if any of you have a question, just call or e-mail me and I'll do what I can to help. I have also started a training program of sorts. My Grandpa was recently in a huge adventure race out in southern Utah. It is this crazy race that runs, bikes, rappels, canoes, and a myriad of other crazy things all in a row! It's great! in any case, he inspired me to get back into sports of some sort... heck, I'm finally not in school, why not. So I am training for a triathalon in September... but it is not a regular race, it is a high adventure one of types. I start out in a kayak for 2 1/2 miles, then I run a mountain trail for 4 1/2 miles and then mountain bike for 12 miles. I am super excited and run just about every day and have started biking 1/2 way to work and all they way home (about 6 miles).
Well, I guess that is it from us. We love and miss you all! Have a great week!!
